FOREST VIEW RANCH GALLERY
About The Ranch
Paradise found just 70 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Where the wind carries the sweet scent of apple blossoms in the evening and the stars light the path after dusk. Established in 1934 when timber and logging companies were moving on from the coast. Forestview Ranch next to Armstrong Woods was created with its heritage apple orchard.
The ranch was purchased in 1995 by the Von Renner family. Early on the long-term goals were to continue to preserve the heritage apple orchard and surrounding native plants and trees along with sharing this unique place with folks.
Forest View Ranch has a seasonal creek that supports an ecosystem of vital native plants and animals who share the land. Throughout the year a variety of flowers, birds, butterflies and wildlife make their home at the ranch.
Ancient Redwoods surround the ranch. On the western edge of the ranch there is a custom treehouse built by Fred Von Renner for his children. Next to the treehouse is a rope swing and rock sculpture.
Because a ranch isn’t a ranch without eggs, Forest View Ranch hosts chickens and ducks as permanent feather ambassadors. You are welcome to ask them to share their eggs.
The ranch is just over a mile from town where you have access to the Russian River, downtown Guerneville where there are art galleries, restaurants, locally owned shops and nightclubs. Most importantly, the ranch is a 5 minute bike ride or ten minute walk away from Armstrong Woods which is home to some of the largest Redwoods on earth.
Forest View Ranch is host to an incredible organic garden managed by Armstrong Valley Ranch, our next door neighbor.
